from 29 reviewsWorks as advertised. Got my fist CPLD programmed after about 1hr
Ross, I've got the board working with no problems. There are a few small QA issues for you :-) The kit contained a 100uF C16, but I couldn't find a place to solder it. Upon inspection, there a SMD C16 on the other side of the board near C20 and U6. Also, my IC11 was soldered at an angle with pin 4 possibly not connected. I managed to solder the gap between leg and pad. Otherwise, all good! Thanks so much for designing this! Cheers, Warren
Bought an MC68030 on Ebay, and CPU socket from mouser. Now to practice soldering up the kit.
Good feel to the key press. Waiting for the release of the case holding the keyboard.
The kits are great and (relatively) easy to assemble. The included software is first rate and the build chain can be installed on pretty much any common platform. No complaints about the cost either. And the support community is fantastic. Responses rarely take more than a day and are well thought out.
This kit is a fantastic retro computer based on the 68020 from Motorola. The kit came in a good condition, all parts in three bags and a good documentation how to build this kit. As described you have to source the cpu on your own. All parts are through hole so soldering them is really easy. A perfect computer for hacking. On Discord you will find a very friendly and helpful community!
I put together the m68k kit in an afternoon and everything worked perfectly. The kit came with all the components I expected, directions were clear, and the guides on the website were helpful for getting everything connected and running. It's clear a lot of care has gone into this project, from the design all the way to the software toolchain. I highly recommend this kit!
This came together surprisingly quickly. I put this together with Mill-Max 0305 sockets (about 20 USD for a full set from Mouser), Gateron Milky Yellow switches, basic screw-in stabilizers, and a cheap XDA profile keycap set from Amazon. XDA keycaps work well because all rows have the same height, so you don't have to find a kit with the UK left shift and tilde keys and the function keys on the right don't stick up. My left shift is sitting on the ~ switch because that's the stem that lined up well, so I'll end up remapping that key eventually.
The keyboard worked right away with programs sent via kermit, but the versions on the provided microSD card must have been slightly older because they wouldn't accept keyboard input. That was an easy fix—there's even a script to update the SD card in the rosco_m68k repository.

The rosco_m68k is a computer that rediscovers the magic of retro technology.
Excellent packaging and arrived in good time (Usually out of our hands via the great pond and customs!) Kits are always packaged well.
I am a fan of 68K CPUs (from way back) and very happy with the new rosco kits. They arrived in great shape and I am looking forward to finishing getting them all up and running. Support has been excellent on the Rosco discord (or via Github issues).
Arrived quickly and well packaged
Easy build with an active and helpful discord community. Complete with dev toolchain, examples and MAME emulator. Plenty to keep me busy filling that retro 68k gap in my Z80 childhood. Thanks!
